You mean about snow melting and the amazing walking speed of the group who didn't have a earthbender to quickly go up the side of mountains?
Yeh.
Still think you should have some wacky thing happen inspired by Sokka's exploits in the past. Like coming across a 'sabertooth moose lion' which would normally be hibernating and getting it to pull the sled Sokka left at the top of the hill/mountain just before the village. If that happened, then Sokka could think that it would take until after he had to leave for the king to reach 'My Lot' thus when all of this is found out, he can be surprised. 
Again i still think that the King should go with the Avatar to Toph's party, especially with all these generals wanting his throne, the Dai Le on the loose, and the leader of the White Lotus, Aang and Katara leaving for the birthday party, kinda leaves him quite defenceless. He could use the excuse that All (except the water tribe) the leaders of the world will be their (Bumi, Zuko, Iroh, Aang) thus he has to make an appearance. 
But meh, your story your vision.

You say you want to get it finished this year, fine. BUT don't rush it because people are getting impatient. There is nothing worse than doing something and then regretting rushing it at a later date. Take your time. I'd like to read this to the end as soon as possible, but at the same time, if you rush it and lose what you have here right now, then it would be a waste. I don't mind waiting a few more years if that is what it takes for you to write something you're happy with. Don't rush it because people are getting impatient. If they can't wait for something good, then screw them!
